American Express.. without an apostrophe

So here we are working fulfilling orders "do we accept american express"?

Well actually we don't - so let me call American Express now and get an account....

I'm calling, get through, put on hold (transfer to merchant assistant)

The call drops!! I need to charge my phone! "where is the other phone"

OK...so - we call Amex again to go ahead and set up a merchant account - we call and get a guy who gives us a walk through, we need your info etc..

In the meantime I hear a slow jam in the back ground (like what's this music??)

My friend gets up to lower down OUR music thinking it was way too much going on.

Me: I can't barely hear you because of your back ground music

operator: that's not me

me: oh god what it's going on

operator #2: thank you for calling american express thanks for holding how may i help you

me: what ? I couldn't believe i had a 3 way with 2 Amex Operators - lol I immediately hand over the phone to my friend and said "you handle this" he gets on then operator #2 decides to hang up....he passes the phone back to me, ok it's just one person looking at me like you can handle this.

Me: Hello (all scared)

Operator: Name, Company's Name, Address etc please

He asks a few questions (20 minutes later)

After

Operator: What is your email address?

Me: it is lisa@babyslanguage.com

Operator: ok let me repeat.... L I S A @ B A B Y S L A N G U A G E . C O M is there an apostrophe there?

Me : Uhmm NO, (I looked at my friend like WTF) I look to my partner and laugh like you know -you can't use an apostrophe?

Operator: Telephone number please

Me: 203-334-7779

All this is going on, and I'm covering my mouth not to LMAO (didn't want him to think that I was laughing at him) but it was hilarious, I'm trying to not laugh loud

Operator: May I please have your website address

Me: WWW.BABYSLANGUAGE.COM (i look over my friend and say "Watch him ask is there an apostrophe" lol

Operator - let me repeat - www.baby - is there an apostrophe - Oh! No he didn't just ask that

I was laughing so hard I couldn't get back on the phone, He asked me 3 times before I stopped laughing -

Operator: Ms. Santos, are you there

Me: Yes (giggling, with tears on my eyes)

Operation: Is there a apostrophe in your website? - and he was serious too!

Me: so finally NO -there is definitely No apostrophe LOL

I had to hand off the whole call to my friend to finish the transaction..

Overall we got the account number and it was just a funny experience - maybe you had to be there but I am still laughing and of course we are proud to announce Baby's Language (With an apostrophe) is now accepting... yes

NYC ENK SHOW MARCH 9-11 '08 YES!!!

Waiting for a response was not as I planned....So, I get this email. -->"We received your samples, thank you!Your line is really great. I will confirm acceptance into the show before the end of the day."I waited....WAITED..waited...hit refresh.....and nothing!! Was she aware that this is HUGE? I didn't eat hello! She had me on the edge of my seat I was not going to close my laptop until I saw an email from the NYC ENK children's show, Im so excited, my brain is going a 100 miles a minute......next day finally comes. I ran to my computer to see and still nothing! C'mon ;( ok - so on with the day... Finally 12:00 rolls around and I say to myself forget it- I am simply calling her now! I phone the show administrator to check on my application status and.... YESSS I am so in! I have been accepted into the Children's show at the Javitz center in New York City! Woo hoo, so excited, I call everyone to tell the news... Now it comes, the work load to get this show together is daunting, but I cannot wait to get on it and be a part of the experience. A very good experience if I may say so. Anyhow thought I catch up with the world and share my fabulous news....can't wait for an update! Pencil down March 9-11 NYC ENK Show

Oh No Not The IRS

The streets are full of snow probably the biggest and only snowstorm of the year. It was fun though I was on a sled in my back yard, the snow was like a sheet so slippery so much fun my sled flew out of my butt and into the river, that was just 5-10 minutes into the adventure, my mom was over this weekend she cooked and did my laundry as usual. I love it. Went to sign my tax returns….and would you believe that I owe the IRS money I’m in shock. I was waiting, waiting for the money for a year lolo….and look what happens….I was upset. I think I’m over it now…it’s been 24 hours already.
On a different note I have another Baby Show to attend this coming Tuesday I’m getting ready for it, that’s keeping me pretty busy. BL’s lawyer contacted me too…that’s a different ball game he needs some data “oh lord”. I have to take care of some legal matters this week and that includes IRS now great!!!! Ever since my mini me is back in daycare now she says “yes” lol she used to say “yeah” to everything. Now she makes sure you hear those ssssss in the Yessss…….cute

Today my excuse is I hate the world because I’m pmsing…..nah that’s not good enough….
My whole week went wrong because my cigarette broke in my coat pocket….so screw the world….
Come to think about it, my week didn’t go so well because my dog (Stella) ate my polly cheese stick.
This one? I didn’t wake up early because I went to sleep at 5am
This one is better…..My boyfriend dumps me because I was messing around with other man, now I’m miserable…..

Children's Show

Milford Children’s show, March 13, 2007
All positive feedback – Awesome response, even the vendors purchased the BL line for themselves. BL got invited to other larger shows in the area and have expanded their clothing line to hats, pants and even toddlers. The turnout was a success and BL was the booth to be at for the time. The whole show turned out to be a great fun experience.

Amazing

Sorry I’ve been out of sight but I’ve been pretty busy, all over the place. I love it though. I had a reality check the other day……I haven’t been shopping for a while, my gosh…I’m going to have to squeeze sometime because this is ridiculous. Anyways let me fill you in as to what’s been going on in my fabulous life. For starters I’ am expanding my line to pants, skirts, leg warmers, hats, outdoor floor mats, wipe mini’s, and other misc. items. I’ve also been staying out of trouble, which is good because I can focus on my business more. This whole blogging thing is a little hard for me to keep up with, because when I ready to blog I have so much to say that I don’t know if it works well all together. For instance I have some people looking into my business right now, I’ am so but so excited that I don’t even know/want to write about in case they read it : ) but yes!!! I’m super, super psyched. They are going to help me push BL forward I keep saying “they” because I don’t want to mention any names but “they” are fabulous. Lots of things are happening. On a different note, I’ve lost touched with my close friends, not that I don’t want to talk to them but is just that I’m super busy. I do miss them though but hey!! : )

Baby Holiday

Today I found my self doing 8 tasks at once: laundry, baby, blackberry, internet, dishes, dogs, cooking, and writing notes...wow, I felt like Superwoman! For the last 36 hours we've been working on a BL holiday postcard to send to our email member's list. I've designed a holiday t-shirt that looks awesome. The Holidays are here

Yes, the holiday season is here and I'm happy, everything is falling into place. Family, Baby's Language and friends are all doing well, thank you. For the past few weeks we?ve been working really hard to push BL to the public. We are trying to get the word out and have shoppers visit the site. It is definitely more challenging than I thought it would have, if you have any ideas or hints on how to promote the collection of baby clothes we created, feel free to let me know.
